In today’s episode of “Paul Is Irresponsible With Money But Knows A Good Deal When He Sees One"… I have a new Nintendo 3DS XL!
I bought an original model 3DS on launch day and love it to bits but HOLY CRAP the XL model is so much comfier, brighter, longer-lasting and all-around better. I bought this XL second-hand on eBay and - in addition to being in top-notch condition* - it came with seven(!) games, all of which I have, at some point, been interested in buying. I already own a copy of Mario, but the other six are welcome additions to my library.
And the amount of money I paid for all of the above, a charger, screen protectors and a big travel case? £210. Brand new, all of this would cost about £350 (estimated from Amazon prices). Also, with a new 3DS in my posession, my younger brother gets to have my old one (and the spare copy of Mario) for free, because I’m a kind and charitable brother ;)
All in all, a rather splendid bargain!
(Yes, I’m playing Animal Crossing: Wild World again and, yes, that is a Pizza John flag. Be jealous. Though, now I think about it, putting a pixelly image of a seven year-old DS game on the screen maybe wasn’t the best way to show off the system. Oh well.)
*Seriously, I think the guy who sold it only bought it about two months ago. He didn’t even use the Club Nintendo scratch cards, so I get loads of extra membership points. Yay!
